Pit Beirer

Pit Beirer (born 19 October 1972 in Radolfzell am Bodensee) is a former German motorcycle racing and motocross riders.

Career

Beirer drove his first race at the age of ten years in a hillside home. His professional career began in 1988. His first Grand Prix victory he celebrated in 1991 in Reil. From 1989 to 1994 he took part in the 125 cc class at the World Cup. His greatest success here was the fifth place in 1994. Starting in 1995, he competed in the 250 cc class. 1997 and 1998 as well as 2000 and 2002, he was supported by third parties, 1999 Vice World Champion. In the years 1991, 1992 and 2002, he won the German championship. On June 8, 2003 Beirer crashed in the GP in Bulgaria Sevlievo hard and pulled a paraplegic at the level of the sixth thoracic vertebra. Beirer works for KTM and directs the sports department within the company.

Beirer is married and has one daughter.
