Pius Schwizer

Pius Schwizer ( born August 13, 1962) is a Swiss show jumper. He lives in Oensingen.

From February to June 2010 was Pius Schwizer leader of the world rankings. In December 2012, he was sixth in the world rankings.

Private

Pius Schwizer has four siblings. His father was a farmer, and founder of the cavalryman riding club calibration.

After completing his school career he made to his father's request training as a butcher. However, in this profession he was only briefly worked, he chose to turn his hobby into a career and to work as a professional rider. Since the early 2000s, he has been an independent partner of the holder on the Klushof in Oensingen.

Schwizerstrasse living apart from his second wife, he is in a new relationship. From his first marriage has Schwizerstrasse an adult daughter.

Career

Schwizerstrasse began four years ago with the riding, the age of eight he started the first time at horse shows. His father also sent him one year at training a dressage rider, there to learn the excessive dressage work the horses. Later he studied with Markus Fuchs and Willi Melliger.

In the Swiss Championships in show jumping, he was in 2006 in Ascona third with Unique X CH.

Pius Schwizer took effect in 2007 in an international championship, the European Championships Jumping in Mannheim, in part. Here he reached the horse Noblesse M 4th place in the team competition in the 22nd place in the individual standings.

For the 2008 Summer Olympics he was originally provided with Noblesse M. After Noblesse M, which had already shown several times problems with water hazards, refused twice at the CHIO Aachen in a water hazard, Schwizers nomination was withdrawn. After the horse by Beat Mandli ( Ideo du Thot ) injured, Pius Schwizer and Noblesse M moved back into the Olympic squad Switzerland for the Summer Olympic Games in 2008. Here they reached the 28th place in the individual standings. At the European Championships in 2009 he reached with Ulysse the gold medal in the team competition and 35th in the individual standings. Also in 2009 he won the Swiss championship with Ulysse.

The World Cup season 2009/2010 he graduated with a second place in the World Cup finals ( with Ulysse and Carlina ) from. With the same horses he reached the sixth place at the World Cup finals in 2012 and third place in the World Cup Final 2011.

At the Olympic Games in 2012 in London, it starts with Carlina for Switzerland. The team reached with 16 penalty points in fourth.
