Pixomondo

Pixomondo is an international, specialized visual effects company with operations in several countries. It was founded in 2001 by its present Managing Director and Executive Producer Thilo Kuther in Pfungstadt near Darmstadt. The Pixomondo Studios GmbH & Co. KG currently has 13 locations around the world.

Field of activity

Pixomondo produces visual effects for feature films and television productions such as 2012, Hugo Cabret, Fast & Furious Five and Hindenburg. In addition, Pixomondo developed visual media for exhibitions and live events, corporate and industrial films, commercials and interactive media as well as apps. Companies such as Porsche, Mercedes -Benz, Volkswagen, Lufthansa and manroland are customers of Pixomondo.

History

Pixomondo was first founded in 2001 by Thilo Kuther as a design studio. Shortly afterwards, the power spectrum was complemented by the creation of motion graphics for event media and animations for product films and commercials. End of 2003, 40 VFX, CGI and compositing specialists worked at the first site in Pfungstadt near Darmstadt. 2004 followed with the work on the Atlantropa Documentation - The dream of a new continent, the first digital visualizations for television.

In 2005 PIXOMONDO opened in Ludwigsburg a feature film location. There emerged as the first project the visual effects for the movie The Red Baron.

2005 PIXOMONDO opened a studio in London. In 2007 the site was opened in Frankfurt and in July 2008 in Los Angeles. In the same year Pixomondo was commissioned by Roland Emmerich with the production of 100 Composites complete CG Environments for the 2012 movie.

Followed in 2009 on the Asian continent PIXOMONDO Shanghai and Beijing. 2010, the London office was expanded, the locations Munich and Hamburg added. 2011 came the location Toronto. In Pixomondo as of April 2012, about 670 employees.

For the visual effect in Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret, the Pixomondo employee Ben Grossmann ( VFX Supervisor) and Alex Henning received ( DFX Supervisor) 2012 Oscar 2012 .. With 854 settings that have a duration of 62 minutes in the final film, created Pixomondo approximately 94 percent of all visual effects.

In February 2013 it was announced that the locations of London and Detroit are closed for structural reasons.

Live Media, Commercials & Corporate film

In the " Live Media ", the company serves several automotive brands at the most important trade fairs such as the International Motor Show, Geneva Motor Show and the North American International Auto Show.

Pixomondo is also developing interactive media applications for touch screens, smartphones, tablet computers and microsites.
