Pizza box form factor

In computer pizza box called (English ) a housing design for desktop computers. It is very shallow (one to two height units, equivalent to about five to ten centimeters ) and wide. The appearance resembles a cardboard box for pizzas, hence the name pizza box.

The first computer in this style were Sun Microsystems desktop workstations. Other common examples are the Next Station by NeXT Computer and the Macintosh LC by Apple. The " pizza box " design was replaced over time by the tower design.

In the Server field, the term is often used colloquially for housing forms in 19 - inch technology and a height unit for installation in racks.
