PKP class Pt47

The PKP Series Pt47 is an Express Train locomotive of the Polish State Railways PKP.

The locomotives of the series Pt47 are an evolution of the pre-war series Pt31. The locomotives were given a steel firebox and a closed cab similar to the series TY45. First, the locomotives were coupled with replicas German Tender, from 1949 Polish Tender 33D48 were used, which were designated 27D48 after installing a Stoker.

Were manufactured in the years 1947-1951 a total of 180 locomotives. Fablok Chrzanów supplied the larger series of 120 pieces, Cegielski Poznań built 60 more locomotives.

There were several locomotives receive operable but is currently no locomotive. Due to the currently unclear and very difficult situation in the historic railways of Poland currently nothing to suggest that this should change. In Wolsztyn are Pt47 -65, 106 and 112, in Kościerzyna Pt47 -100 (ex Pt47 -171 ) painted in green, in Chabowka Pt47 -152, Pt47 -121 as a memorial in Kostrzyn nad Odra, in Lodz Pt47 -1 and in Stargard Szczeciński Pt47 - 14th

In 1989, of the burner & burner steam locomotives operating company the Pt 47-138 was imported from Poland to Austria. She has been remodeled, externally to the appearance of ÖBB- series 919 (ex PKP Series Pt31 ) were aligned and now performs special trains under the name 919 138.
