PKP class SM41

The vehicles of the MÁV M44 - series diesel locomotives were of the Hungarian State Railways ( MÁV ) for the mixed use. Machines of this type also received the Raab - Sopron - Ebenfurter Railway ( GySEV ). At the same time she was also under the name VME1 in the former Soviet Union, under the name T 455.0 to the Czechoslovak State Railways ( ČSD ) and delivered as a series of 51 to BDŽ.

History

For light freight trains and the moderately heavy shunting locomotive this was first delivered in 1956, MÁV. The maximum permitted speed of 80 km / h, they made ​​fit for mixed service. Technical Features

The locomotive is a construction with a driving cab at one end of the vehicle part. It was powered by the proven diesel engine XVI 170/240 Type Full - Jendrassik. It was a bit unusual in that it was designed as a 16- cylinder engine with arrangement of cylinders in a V shape.

More commercial than technical reasons it is that there was a purchase of five locomotives in 1957 were. On the use, there is no information in the literature, probably they were used in Slovakia. Their small number of pieces was crucial that in the rationalization of Lokparks the machine has been given no future, and so they were retired by 1968.
