PKP class SP47

The locomotives of the series SP47 of the Polish State Railways ( PKP) were diesel locomotives for the transport of high-speed trains.

In the 1974 unrealized plans for a successor Series Series SP45 also a more powerful version for use with high-speed trains was included. After the two 1974 completed prototypes of the SU46 series was completed in 1975 as a prototype of the SP47 -001. She received the type designation 302D. The SP47 -001 was built opposite the SU46 an extended locomotive body and engines with a total output of 2205 instead of 1654 kW. It was designed for a maximum speed of 140 km / h, but was allowed a maximum of 120 km / h. SP47 -001 was painted white with brown frame, trim and roof.

1977 was completed with SP47 -002 of the second prototype. He received the normal light green / dark green paint. The same painting was later also SP47 -001. Project included the construction of initially ten other SP47. Due to the definition of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA ), adjust the construction of large diesel locomotives in Poland, was not followed by serial production of the SP47.

SP47 -002 was shut down in 1991 and scrapped in 2001. SP47 -001 remained in use until 1997 and was then handed over to the Railway Museum Kościerzyna.
