Plaeng Yao District

Amphoe Plaeng Yao ( in Thai: อำเภอ แปลง ยาว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Chachoengsao. The Chachoengsao province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Ban Pho the Bang Khla, Ratchasan, Phanom Sarakham Sanam Chai Khet and the province of Chachoengsao and Koh Chan, Phanat Nikhom and Phan Thong in the province of Chonburi.

History

Plaeng Yao was born on October 16, 1978 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three tambon Plaeng Yao, Hua Samrong and Wang Kaen from Amphoe Bang Khla were separated. On 15 March 1985 Plaeng Yao was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Plaeng Yao is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 48 villages ( Muban ).

There are four other small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Hua Samrong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หัว สำโรง ) consists of parts of the tambon Hua Samrong,
  • Plaeng Yao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แปลง ยาว ) consists of parts of the tambon Plaeng Yao, and parts of Wang Yen
  • Thung Sadao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง สะเดา ) also consists of parts of the tambon Plaeng Yao and also from parts of Wang Yen
  • Wang Yen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง เย็น ) composed of the remaining parts of the tambon Wang Yen.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
