Plage (mycology)

The Hilarfleck is in certain spores of some fungi an indentation or more or less demarcated clearly, smooth or ornamented much weaker position above the Apiculus ( hilum ) on the ventral side of the spore. Besides the name Hilarfleck frequently used in German, there are a number of other names such as: Suprahilarfleck (actually correct ), suprahilar or supraapiculare depression. In the English and French literature is usually the term "plague " is used, which was introduced by Romagnesi.

It is believed that the Hilarfleck that arises because the neighboring spores that adhere to a basidium, touch at this point, so the ornament less trained or if the spores successive press harder, even dents.

The Hilarfleck is an important feature in determining milk Lingen and Täublingen. It can be inamyloid or partly or completely amyloid. If it is partially amyloid, he can be in the middle or at the edge. An amyloid Hilarfleck need not be equally trained in all spores when the Hilarfleck be stained in half of the spores, they are known as amyloid.
