Plainfield is a municipality in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. It is located in Sullivan County. Plainfield has 2,241 inhabitants and 844 households ( 2005).

Geography

History

The city was founded in 1761. 1813, the still existing boarding Kimball Union Academy was founded in the village of Meriden. The Artists' Colony Cornish Art Colony on the outskirts existed from 1885 until 1930.
