Plant physiology

Plant Physiology is the science of life processes ( physiology ) of plant, especially of the regulation and control of biochemical processes. Central, but not the sole process is photosynthesis.

In addition, processes of growth, differentiation of organs that play a role in response to environmental stimuli and intracellular transport of substances.

The substances formed as a result of photosynthesis (from the glucose over polysaccharides up to lipids, proteins and nucleic acids) are not only the structure of the plant body. As Infochemicals they also contribute to communication between individual cells and between individuals of the same or different species, but also with pollinators or herbivores.
