Plantar calcaneonavicular ligament
The ligament calcaneonavicular plantar (syn. ligament calcaneocentrale plantar, " pan band ", " Plattfußband ", English:. Jumping ligament ) is located on the plantar side ( sole side ) of the foot and connects the heel bone ( calcaneus ) to the navicular ( scaphoid, Syn os tarsi centrale).
It is conically shaped and extends between sustentacular and the plantar aspect of the navicular bone. This area of the foot skeleton bears the head of the talus ( ankle bone ). Its posterior surface forms a part of the joint. Therefore, the band has a cartilage layer. Because this joint the band is remembered after his appearance on a pan called " pan band". Through its plantar side of the tendon of the tibialis posterior runs.
The plantar ligament calcaneonavicular played a major role in stabilizing the arch of the foot. Is there after, flattens and the medial aspect of the longitudinal arch and it comes to Plattfußbildung (hence the synonym " Plattfußband ").
