Plastics engineering

The plastics engineering deals with the study and application of physical, chemical, biological and physiological properties of plastics and has emerged from the process engineering as an independent field of research.

The goal of this research is to develop or select which have the required properties for a specific application plastics. Typically, this includes the search for new uses, optimization of manufacturing processes and appropriate for the material design of components.

To promote scientific and technical plastics engineering, the university professors of plastics technology have come together in the Scientific Working Group of University Professors of plastics technology CTE.
