The sports club or Platanias Platanias FC (Greek Αθλητικός ' Ομιλος Πλατανιά Χανίων ) is a football club based in Platanias, Crete, which plays in the Greek league. The club was founded in 1931. The club qualified for the 2008 /09 season in the Delta Ethniki (4th league) for the ascent. A year later promotion to the second-rate Football League. There succeeded in the 2011/12 season sensational in the playoffs the way into the highest Greek league, the Super League. Thus, the club managed a total of three climbs in only four seasons.
