Platinum Stars F.C.

Platinum Stars FC is a South African football club from Mahikeng in the North West Province. The club currently plays in the Premier Soccer League, the highest football league in the country.

History

Platinum Stars is the sequel to the Highlands Park FC, ​​one of the most successful and famous clubs in South Africa during apartheid. Highlands Park, which aufliefen in red and white jerseys, Park played in Balfour in the north of Johannesburg. After the dissolution of the League, which had until then only the white population of South Africa's reserved, the club went bankrupt. Larry Brookstone, a longtime fan of the club in 1998 forced a start-up as an amateur team. The club merged with Silver Stars FC and then played under the name HP Silver Stars in Polokwane ( Limpopo ). In 2006, the club signed a contract with the Royal Bafokeng Nation and moved to Rustenburg.
