Plato of Bactria

Plato Epiphanes was ruled an Indo - Greek king of the v. in the 2nd century AD. He is only known by very few coins. The location of these coins may imply that he reigned in the Hindu Kush as a vassal king of the Greco- Bactrian ruler. The imprints are similar to those of I. Eukratides so that both rulers perhaps reigned in about the same time. Might appear on a coin a dating after the Seleucid era and would be dated to the year 166 BC. A different era, perhaps even a Greco- Bactrian can not be excluded. There was no coin of the ruler in Ai Khanoum, which may indicate that he ruled by 135 after the fall of the city of BC.
