Playa Ancha University of Educational Sciences

The Universidad de Playa Ancha de Ciencias de la Educación is a College of Education in Chile. It belongs to the so-called traditional universities of Chile, which were founded before 1980 and to the Universidades del Consejo de Rectores. The university has over 10,000 students.

History

In 1948, the Instituto de la Universidad de Chile Pedagógico was established in Valparaíso to develop your language studies with the intention. It trainings were offered in pedagogy for Spanish, French and English, in 1951 was followed by a training in philosophy and a year later became the first Chilean School of Journalism and the Escuela Normal founded for women.
