Pleasanton is an American city in Alameda County in the U.S. state of California. It has about 66,100 inhabitants ( as of 2004). The city lies at the geographic coordinates 37.67 ° N, 121.89 ° West. The metropolitan area has a size of 56.5 km ². Pleasanton is located at the intersection of Interstates 580 and 680 and, together with the neighboring city of Dublin the most easterly point of the BART system, the Bay Area connected cities.
