Plethysmograph
Plethysmography (Greek Plethore = wealth, graphein = write ) is a measurement method, measured by the volume fluctuations of a body part or organ. It is used for example as:
- Verschlussplethysmografie for the diagnosis of arterial and venous blood vessels in the legs and arms,
- Body plethysmography for the functional testing of the lung,
- Penile plethysmography ( phallometry ) to determine the degree of erection of the penis.
- Finger plethysmography to measure the volume of the finger in relation to the pulse.
- Luftverdrängungsplethysmographie for determining the body composition, in particular of body fat in humans
