Plévenon

Plévenon is a commune with 728 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor in Brittany.

Geography

Plévenon lies between the cities of Saint- Brieuc and Saint- Malo on the headland of Cap Frehel. The cliffs that protrude up to 70 meters from the sea are known. Here you will find many tourists who visit the lighthouse of Cap Frehel, whose light can be seen until after Plévenon. On the territory of the municipality lies 5km north- west of the town center, the Fort la Latte.

History

In 1972, the municipality was merged with the neighboring community Pléhérel under the common name Frehel. After the locations were 2004 again separated into two independent communities, retained the former municipality Pléhérel in the name Frehel, Plévenon returned to its former name. The famous Cap Frehel is now on the municipality of Plévenon.
