Plextor

Plextor is a CD and DVD recorder brand of the Japanese group Shinano Kenshi. Under it are CD / DVD recorder, burner, and drives, CD / DVD media markets (only sales, production of Taiyo Yuden ), USB flash memory and digital video converter. Meanwhile, Plextor also relies on the relatively new market of SSDs (Solid State Drive). The company was founded as TEXEL Corporation in 1985 in Tokyo, Japan, Plextor renamed in 1994, and has in such places as Belgium and the United States. Plextalk, a company that manufactures audio hardware and software for the blind, also belongs to Plextor.

In the headlines Plextor came in 2005, has been taken as legal action against developers of alternatives to in-house CD-/DVD-Mess- and analysis program Plextools.
