Pliezhausen
Pliezhausen is a municipality in Baden- Württemberg, located about eight kilometers north of the county town of Reutlingen. It belongs to the metropolitan region of Stuttgart.

Community structure
The original community Pliezhausen consists of the districts Pliezhausen, Dörnach and Gniebel. After the incorporation of Rübgarten on May 9, 1975, the municipality Pliezhausen emerged in its present form. The districts are spatially identical to the formerly independent municipalities of the same name, the official name of the latter three is done in the form " Pliezhausen ... ". History
In the district Pliezhausen a Neolithic settlement from the period has been demonstrated by 5,000 BC.
In an Alemannic woman's grave from the Merovingian time the riders disc of Pliezhausen was found in Pliezhausen inter alia, issued at the Landesmuseum Wuerttemberg in Stuttgart.
Pliezhausen was first mentioned in 1092 as Plidolfeshusin documented. It first belonged to the county Achalm - Urach and came in the 13th century Württemberg. 1609 the plague devastated the city, 40 percent of the 300 inhabitants died. As of 1635, the Thirty Years' War led to further devastation and death. The church originally belonged to the upper office Urach and came 1842 Oberamt Tübingen and in the Baden-Württemberg district reform in 1973 the district of Reutlingen.

Dörnach
In 1334 Dörnach was first mentioned. 1342 was the municipality with the territory of the County Palatine of Tübingen, to which it belonged to Württemberg. Since its introduction Dörnach belonged to the upper office Tübingen. Dörnach was incorporated in 1971 after Pliezhausen.
Gniebel
Gniebel belonged to the Counts of Zollern, 1473 charges the place to Württemberg. There, the village belonged to the upper office Tübingen. Gniebel was incorporated in 1971 after Pliezhausen.
Rübgarten
The area around Rübgarten originally belonged to the possession of the Volen of Wildenau and coincided with the County Palatine of Tübingen in 1342 to Württemberg. The town itself was first mentioned in 1363. Since 1806 the place belonged to the upper office Tübingen. As part of the district reform in Baden- Württemberg in 1973 Rübgarten fell to the district of Reutlingen. Rübgarten was incorporated in 1975 by Pliezhausen.

Religions
The church of St. Martin in Pliezhausen was built in the 11th or 12th century as a Romanesque chapel; In the 16th century it was remodeled Gothic. The original tower dates from 1523, the present of 1875. Since the introduction of the Reformation in Württemberg it is Protestant. Mayor
The mayor is elected for a term of eight years. Otwin Brucker had since January 10, 1967 Mayor of the municipality and for long time to the longest-serving mayor in Baden- Württemberg. In August 2005 Otwin Brucker presented with the 65th year his office before the expiry of the parliamentary term is available. On 18 July 2005 Christof Dold was elected as his successor.

The municipality is situated on the Roman road Neckar- Alb- Aare and the Neckar Valley Cycle, leading past many sights.

Structures
- The Two Oak Tower was built in 1930 by the local chapter of Pliezhausen the Swabian Alp Association. It stands 410 meters above sea level. Sea level and offers a good view of the Neckar and the Swabian Alb.
- The unusual office building of the IT company Data Group in the district Gniebel at the exit of B 27 was built in 1995. Pliezhausen is located on the main road 297 from Tübingen to Lorch (Württemberg). The districts Gniebel and Rübgarten lie on the B 27 ( Blankenburg ( Harz) - Lottstetten ), which forms a good transport links to the Greater Stuttgart area, but also every morning is blocked by moving traffic in the direction of Stuttgart.

In Pliezhausen there is a primary, and junior high school ( Otwin - Brucker - school center ).
