Pluak Daeng District
Amphoe Pluak Daeng ( in Thai: อำเภอ ปลวกแดง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern province of Rayong. The Rayong province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.
Etymology
The name of the district derives from the founding period. The inhabitants found an anthill full of unusual Red termites ( Thai: Pluak Daeng - ปลวกแดง ).
Geography
Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Wang Chan the Ban Khai and Nikhom Patthana Rayong province and the Amphoe Bang Lamung, Nong Yai Si Racha and Chonburi province.
The most important water resource is the Nong Pla Lai Reservoir.
History
Originally belonged to Amphoe Ban Khai this area. Pluak Daeng was established in 1970 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ), then consisting of the two tambon Ta Sit and Pluak Daeng. On March 25, 1979, he got the full Amphoe status.
Management
The circle is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 34 villages ( Muban ).
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Ban Pluak Daeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ปลวกแดง ) consists of parts of the tambon Pluak Daeng.
- Chomphon Chao Phraya ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จอมพล เจ้าพระยา ) consists of parts of the tambon Ta Sit
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
