Plus belle la vie is a French television series that began in August 2004 and is the equivalent of the English Coronation Street and the German Linde road. It runs daily ( Monday through Friday) on France 3 and on the Belgian broadcaster RTBF.

The show is one of the most successful French television landscape, and has helped to change the image of the southern city of Marseille positive in the public eye. The fictional city district " Le Mistral " in which the soap is located, has clear parallels to the Quartier du Panier.
