Plymouth County (Massachusetts)

The Plymouth County is a county located in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Brockton and Plymouth.

Geography

The county has an area of 2,832 square kilometers, of which 1120 square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Norfolk County, Barnstable County and Bristol County.

History

Plymouth County was one of three 1685 Gründungscountys of Plymouth Colony.

The population was made up of 88.70 percent White, 4.56 percent African American, 0.92 percent Asian, and 0.21 percent Native American. 2.44 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. The per capita income was 24,789 dollars; 4.9 percent of families and 6.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
