Plyometrics

Plyometrics (Greek: pleion = more; Metreo = measure ) refers to a type of power training, which is based on the stretch reflex of muscles and control of these as well as the muscle spindle apparatus. Frequent application of this training can be found at high jumpers, sprinters, basketball players and goalkeepers as well as in other sports that rely on sprint speed or bounce.

There is also plyometric exercises for the upper body. This can occur for example when boxing training used where the greatest possible force development also plays a big part in no time.
