Pobeda (watch)

Pobeda watches (Russian Победа to German "victory" ) are the most famous watches of the Soviet Union, and the most produced watches in the world.

The origin of the work is due to the acquisition of technical documentation and production systems for the movement LIP K- 26 of the largest French watchmaker LIP ( which at that time served as a standard clock of the French armed forces) by Frédéric Lipmann in 1937. It was a movement 26 mm in diameter, with manual winding, subsidiary second at 6, with 15 jewels and a monometallic screw balance ( with pins for fine adjustment ) with Breguet spring and 34 hour power reserve.

The production of the clock has started in the First Moscow Watch Factory in 1946. Over time, this movement was further developed and installed in six factories in 30 technical variations in about 100 watch models with different names, a year in circulation of several million pieces. The clock is built to date (2004) on. In the years 1946 and 1947 also two tool sets for the Glashütte caliber 25 were delivered as war reparations from Germany, which were then used to make the slightly modified model STURMANSKIE. Specifically, were equipped with the K -26 plant following brands:

• Pobeda with 15 jewels and distributed, starting in 1950 with central seconds
• STURMANSKIE (1949 ) with sweep seconds. Standard clock of the Eastern Bloc armies.
• Mayak ( Lighthouse ) (1955 ) with 16 stones and decentralized second
• Moskva River (1955 ) with 16 stones and sweep second
• Sportivnye (1955 ) with 17 jewels and central seconds stoppable. The work was also incorporated into the STURMANSKIE. Thus, a clock had Gagarin in 1961 orbit, and in honor of this event, the brand name was changed to Poljot ( Flight ).
• Antarktida (1956 ) with 24 - hour display ( Sportivnye with other translation for the hour axis )
• And more: Slava (Glory ), 15 jewels; Start, 17 jewels ( from the Second Moscow Watch Factory ); further Kirov, Sputnik, Raketa and others, depending on the manufacturing plant.

The versions differ in technical details such as shock protection, lockable restlessness, stones arrangement, etc., and were combined with each other to some extent. There were also waterproof, anti-magnetic and golden casing. All types were distinguished by good mechanical quality, reliability and durability.
