Pocket mask

Airway devices are easy to use tools for artificial respiration, which make direct contact with the mouth breathing receiver unnecessarily and thereby reduce any possible inhibitions on the part of the respiratory donor and the risk of infection. They are intended for use by non-medical professionals; professional helpers in the hospital and ambulance service use resuscitators.

A distinction masks and foils.

Ventilation mask

To seal the respirator mask has a circumferential air-filled bead. The breath donor has (unlike when using a respiration bag ) both hands available, so that even beginners can hang up the mask tightly on the face of the recipient. The mask can be a respiratory overhead or from the side to ( then includes a hand top of the screen and presses it on the nose area, while the other hand grasps the chin and mask it with the thumb fixed). The two-handed work also allows the simultaneous fixation of the mask and the over-extension of the head. From the increased distance between donors and recipients breath there is the further advantage that the donor can observe the rise and fall of the chest of the receiver easier.

Ventilation film

Ventilation film is smaller, lighter and cheaper than the mask and therefore is well suited for permanent carrying in the first aid kit, in the purse or as a keychain. For protection against infection during the use of a valve or a filter is incorporated into the film. The breath dispenser puts the film on the patient's face and then ventilated either mouth - to-mouth or mouth -to-nose (as in the first-aid course learned ). To prevent from falling or slipping of the film ( eg, alternating with rescue breathing performed chest compressions ) are elastics pulled left and right on the edge of the foil over the patient's ears (on the right, only the left elastic band can be seen).
