Pocket trumpet

A pocket trumpet equivalent pipe length ( with mouthpiece 140 cm) - including pitch - a normal trumpet, but is more compact: while the overall length of a normal trumpet is about 49 cm (55 cm with mouthpiece ), reaches a pocket trumpet just 22 cm (25 cm with mouthpiece ). This makes it especially suitable for the road.

During playing, the tube length, in contrast to the normal trumpet not be changed. This is a disadvantage in the ( professional ) interpretation of classical music, where attention must be paid to accurate intonation.

The bell is more representative of the scale of the cornet. The valves are usually piston valves.
