Polish Post ( German Polish Post ) is the universal service provider for postal services in Poland and was established as a state agency in 1928. The company has 8,240 nationwide post offices and has 92,000 employees. As a universal service provider is required to maintain a post office for every 7,000 inhabitants of a city or at least once to 65 square kilometers in rural areas. The services must be offered five days a week ( Monday to Friday ). By the end of 2012, the Company had the monopoly for postal items up to 50 grams, but this is undermined heavy cardboard envelopes for shipments in A4 format since 2007 from private competitors InPost by 50 grams. Since 1 September 2009, the company is run as a public company.
2008 it was announced that the Polish domestic intelligence (Polish Agencja Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego ) plans to address all letters in Poland to scan. This is a database whose data is built graphologisch be evaluated. The Polish Post facilities with appropriate scanners will cost 250 million zloty.

Postal reform
From ten post offices in the country take nine losses, which is why they are to be en masse closed and replaced by private mail acceptance points in gas stations and local grocery stores. Unions
In the Polish Post 67 trade unions act, of which the largest in the confederations OPZZ ( 22,000 Post members), Solidarity ( 14,000 ) and Forum ZZ ( 4000 ) are organized. In May 2008, 32 unions have negotiated with the Directorate General for 400 zloty wage increase from August 2008, as well as shopping vouchers in December 2008 for 400 zloty. Some unions, including Solidarity and the Union of Post- guards, which did not agree. Mid-September 2010 voted 60 of 67 postal unions to a new collective bargaining agreement, which comes into force on 1 January 2011. The old collective agreement had expired five years earlier. The new collective agreement includes the abolition of the long-service bonuses after ten years as well as the reduction of severance payments to the level prescribed by the Labour Act. Allowances for additional duties are converted into wage increases or performance bonuses. In addition, wage payments are synchronized and simplified, making the post saves 5 million zlotys a year.
