POFC Botev Vratsa

The FC Botev Vratsa ( Bulg: Ботев Враца ) is a football club from the Bulgarian town of Vratsa. He bears the name of the Bulgarian hero Hristo Botev.

History

The club was founded in 1921 by Nikola Kunow, Ivan Abusow, Nako Paunow, Gergo Boytchew, Todor Orozow, Hristo Lighenski and Angel Rachinsk. Between 1957 and 1964 they played in the B Grupa. 1964, rose to the A Grupa. Between 1964 and 1990 they played 788 games in the A Grupa. 1990 it rose in B Grupa and later in the W Grupa from. 2007/08 the club fourth in the W Grupa northwest.

In the 2010/11 season Botev Vratsa could reach the first place in the Second Bulgarian League B Grupa - West and qualify for the A Grupa.

Stadium

The Christo Botev Stadium was built in 1948. It is located in the east Wrazas. Initially, it had space for 32,000 spectators. After it fell into disrepair over the years, as the club had no money, it was rebuilt in 2008 and reduced the capacity to just 6000 places.
