Poggiorsini
Poggiorsini is a Southeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1403 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Bari, in Puglia. The community is located about 57 kilometers southwest of Bari and about 33.5 kilometers south-southwest of the Parco nazionale dell'alta Murgia Andria. Poggiorsini directly borders the provinces of Potenza and Barletta -Andria -Trani.
History
The area around Poggiorsini comes here on a plateau of the Murgia of strategic importance. Probably found already early settlements or fortifications at least in earlier times. Is first mentioned Poggiorsini 1129.
Later the family Orsini received the area as a fief.
