Point Distribution Model

Point Distribution Models are used in image understanding. You can simulate two-dimensional or three-dimensional objects from the real world. Their strength unfolds with objects that can be deformed in a liquid way, such as facial features.

Creating a PDM model

It creates a Point Distribution Model for a particular object by collecting hundreds of images of this object in different deformations. A PDM is comprised of a given number of two-dimensional or three-dimensional points. Now, each point will be placed in each image at the same location of the object. By analysis of the mutual correlation of the points of movement of the points obtained in the deformation.
