Point Pleasant Beach is a Borough in Ocean County, New Jersey. The population is 5,314, according to U.S. Census 2000. The town was founded in 1886.
Location
Point Pleasant Beach is a coastal town on New Jersey's Barnegat Peninsula, a long, coastal offshore peninsula that divides the Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. The site comprises approximately 4.5 square kilometers, of which 3.7 km ² of land and 0.7 km ² water are.
Tourism
Point Pleasant Beach and its beaches have regional importance as a recreational area. The waterfront ( Jenkinson's Boardwalk ) is about 1.5-2 km long and offers during the summer season, many fairground attractions, pubs, restaurants, etc. In contrast to the more southern Atlantic City has Point Pleasant Beach retains a rather quiet family character.
