Points classification in the Giro d'Italia

The Maglia Rossa (German red jersey, 2010 and 2011: Maglia Rosso Passione, dt literally: "Jersey red passion," mutatis mutandis " jersey of the passion of the heart" ) is a rating jersey that the leader of the points classification at cycling stage race Giro d' Italia wears.

For the first time a red leader's jersey for the points classification, introduced in 1966 was used in the Giro d' Italia in 1967. From 1970 to 2009, the leader of the points classification with the Maglia Ciclamino (German zyklamrotes jersey) was excellent. In 2010, the organizers went back to a stronger shade of red, the stronger the leader's jersey in the overall standings, the Maglia Rosa, abzugrenzt itself.

The first winner of the Maglia Ciclamino was the Italian Gianni Motta. The two Italians Giuseppe Saronni and Francesco Moser won the vote the most. Both were four times to win the points classification.
