Poison Prince

Poison Prince is the first single by British singer Amy Macdonald from her first studio album, This Is the Life, and the first single ever, the officially published. The piece was written by Macdonald and released the single before the album on 7 May 2007.

In addition, available as CD, 7 " and Download work still contains the B-side rock bottom and Footballer 's Wife. Decorated in red and black cover with white signature shows at the bottom left of the screen upside Amy Macdonald with downcast eyes. On the re-release of May 19, 2008 she is looking to see a color photograph on the right edge of the cover to the right.

Content

The song is about Pete Doherty, the singer of Babyshambles and former Libertines singer, who came by his excessive consumption of drugs in the headlines. Amy Macdonald, who describes himself as a big fan of the Libertines, said of Doherty and her song:

" " The tabloid press are horrible. You just sit there and swear at it and no one stops and says, " Why he made it at all in the public ," Well, he succeeded because he was an incredibly talented musician and I still think that he 's that?. I just think it's completely lost its way. " Poison Prince " was just a song for him, me and every other fan I know says: "Forget all that shit, forget all the drugs and the stupid influences and come back to the music " " ".

Music Video

To the song, there are three videos. In the first plays and sings the song Amy Macdonald without arrangement in a dark room. In the second you see them at a gig with her band in a Glasgow club. In between sequences are displayed, in which Macdonald by car, on foot, by subway, alone or with friends roams Glasgow. The third version, which appeared along with the re-release, is decorated in black and white and displays them at a gig in Troon and impressions about the concert.

Charts

In Switzerland, the single reached on 27 April 2008 alone by Downloads Place 58 of the charts.

In Germany, on 19 June 2009 a CD without the song Rock Bottom, but released with a music video as a data track and debuted at # 66 in the single charts. This was also the highest chart position.
