Poison the Well (band)

Poison the Well is a Post-Hardcore-/Metalcore-Band from Miami, Florida. They are one of the most respected and best-known bands in their genre and have taken since their first album in 1998 enormous influence. The U.S. magazine Guitar World ranks the 1999 released album The Opposite of December until today one of the 100 most important rock albums ever.

Band History

The yet unnamed, beginning at Acre Lost tape was released after two at Trustkill Records albums temporarily at Atlantic Records, of which the band but prematurely separated again due to differences. The album titled version appeared on April 3, 2007 on Ferret Records.

The fifth studio album, The Tropic Rot was published on 7 July 2009 via Ferret Records.

In 2004, Geoff left Bergman (bass) and Derek Miller ( guitar), the band, so now with Ryan Primack (guitar) and Chris Hornbrook (drums) are only two founding members active. The core of the band is still one Jeffrey Moreira, since 1999 holds the vocalist position with all the band's albums.

In July 2010, Poison the Well announced that she take a break indefinitely.
