Poix-Terron

Poix- Terron is a commune with 860 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Ardennes department in the Champagne-Ardenne region in the canton of Omont.

Location

The municipality comprises the about a kilometer apart hamlets lying Poix and Terron -lès- Poix, which form a common community since 1897. Between the towns of the Territory road D 27 West of Poix runs off the A34 motorway. Poix has a station on the railway from Charleville- Mézières by Rethel. The district covers an area of 14.26 km ².

History

During the Second World War, the Battle of La Horgne between German and French troops took place on 14 and 15 May 1940, the local environment.

The population of the parish rose from 665 persons in 1962 to 804 people in 1999.

In the district Poix is the 1926 historical monument ( Monument historique ) asked Saint Martin Church.
