PokerTH

PokerTH is the name of an open source software project, which is a computer simulation for the poker game Texas Hold'em. The software is available in its entirety under the GPL. The game has an artificial intelligence opponent in the engine, which controls up to nine powerful computer opponents. The game was programmed in C using the Qt4 libraries, Boost and SDL and available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Development

The project was started in 2006 by Florian Thauer and Felix Hammer, because at that time there was no free poker program with computer opponents. Version 0.1 has not yet been made ​​available to the public. You already contained the complete graphical user interface and could be played until the end of the first round in Texas Hold'em ( preflop ). In October 2006, version 0.2 and soon after version 0.3 was released, which allowed the further rounds.

On 4 April 2007, version 0.4 was released. It contained, besides a completely new design, and a customize a comprehensive settings dialog to the program flow to his own ideas from scratch programmed opponent engine.

After Lothar May has joined the development team released version 0.5 on 17 June 2007. The most important changes were network games in the LAN and the Internet, internationalization and sound support.

Since version 0.6 of 13 December 2007 games through the Internet are possible. Thus, a connection is automatically made ​​to a dedicated server which takes over the management of online games and the SCTP protocol over IPv6 support. This online gambling has become much easier since technical obstacles such as port forwarding accounts for routers and IP addresses - disclosure.

With version 0.8 online ranked games were introduced. For these games you have to be logged in to PokerTHs own rankings site poker Heroes. In addition, live streams of ranked games there are transmitted at regular intervals. The number of translated languages ​​has risen to 25 now.

Since January 4, 2012 PokerTH is available in version 0.9. With this new release, the project is one of the most frequently requested functions: the possibility of a running game, for example, Internet after a connection break rejoining. Since PokerTH 0.9.5 the game is also available as an app for Android APK via download.

The current version is 1.1.1. It was published on 10 January 2014.
