Pokey LaFarge

Pokey LaFarge (* 1983 in Bloomington, Illinois, civil Drew Heissler ) is an American roots music singer and songwriter.

Life

In 2009 he founded the group " Pokey LaFarge & the South City Three" consisting of three musicians: Joey Glynn ( bass), Adam Hoskins ( guitar) and Ryan Koenig ( harmonica, washboard and snare). The group is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

The repertoire consists of a creative blend of jazz, ragtime early for string instruments, country blues and western swing.

His nickname Pokey dates back to his youth. So persuaded him to his mother when he dawdled. The name LaFarge he slept with after the folk singer Peter LaFarge.

Appearances

  • Pokey Lafarge played at the Newport Folk Festival in 2011., The group toured the U.S. and Europe. She gave concerts in the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland. Then returned back to North America and also occurred in Canada.
