The Polish national ice hockey team of men led after the World Cup 2012 in the IIHF World Ranking at number 23. Active Trainer is the Russian Igor Sacharkin. As a consultant acts his compatriot Slava Bykov.

At the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2007 the team finished second in Group A of Division I, which was held in Qiqihar ( China), behind France in second place and thus missing out on promotion to the A World Cup just barely. In the following years the Polish team reached the summit in the A Championship, in which they played in 2002 did not.

Best place a Polish teams at World Championships was the fourth place at the World Ice Hockey Championships in 1931. During the 1970s, the team was repeated on the comprehensive time only six or eight-team lineup for the A World Championship. To prepare for the annual World Championships, the national team regularly participates in tournaments in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge.
