Polarfront

Under a polar front is understood in the meteorology of the boundary region between the oppositely flowing air masses of polar cold air and the subtropical warm air. In contrast to the effective weather fronts the low-pressure areas, the polar front separates two main air masses of the atmosphere body, which is why it is also referred to as climatic front. It is not designed as a uniform belt but moves with the different large scale penetration of polar and warm air masses south and north in the so-called Rossby waves. The polar front is as fluidization area of origin of the strong decisive in the higher mid-latitudes the weather patterns dynamic low-pressure areas.
