Polarmount

Polarmount is customary for the installation of mobile satellite antenna installation method. A parallel to the rotation axis of the earth shaft carries a rotor. The rotor rotates the antenna support in a plane which is parallel to the equatorial plane of the earth. The rotor is mounted by means of an angle adjustment of the so-called " declination " the satellite antenna.

By rotating the rotor, the antenna can be aligned at a suitable fixed setting of the declination angle on all located in equatorial orbit satellites. This includes geostationary satellites.

The polar mount is to be distinguished from the mounting method azimuth / elevation at which the tracking of a equatorial orbiting satellite two axis / angle ( azimuth and elevation) must be adjusted simultaneously.

Basically can be personalized with polar mount - mounted antennas achieve the same results as with azimuth / elevation mount antennas when the declination axis / the declination angle is fully adjustable.
