Polish Teachers' Union

Związek Nauczycielstwa Polskiego ( ZNP ) is called the Union of Polish teachers with 327,000 members (according to website).

History

On 1 October 1905, the Association of Folk teachers ( Związek Nauczycieli Ludowych ) was founded on a Teachers' Congress in Pilaszkowa, the joined almost 1000 teachers. Who wanted to enter, had to undertake to teach the Polish language as well as the children in the Polish spirit ( in three divided Poland). Therefore, the ZNL reprisals of powers was exposed, who had originally divided Poland between themselves. Some lost his job. Some were forced to flee to Galicia.

On December 9, 1905 under the name Polski Związek Nauczycielski (PZN, Polish Teachers' Association ) a second teacher organization emerged, which absorbed the persecuted ZNL members. On the same day the Stowarzyszenie Nauczycielstwa Polskiego (Society of Polish teachers, SNP), which are mainly united teachers of private secondary schools emerged.

On December 28, 1905, the Krajowy Związek Nauczycielstwa Ludowego in Galicia ( National Association of teachers of the people ) was created in Krakow, the teacher united, who taught in different school types in the collected of Austria areas.

January 2, 1917 - Federation of PZN and SNP to Zrzeszenie Nauczycielstwa Polskiego. June 1917 - appear for the first time " Głos Nauczycielski " (literally Teacher Voice ) as the organ of Zrzeszenie Nauczycielstwa Polskiego, today the ZNP.

December 28, 1918 - at a meeting of teachers from Greater Poland and Pomerania in poses of the Association Związek Dzielnicowy Stowarzyszeń Nauczycieli Polaków is founded on the occupied territories of Prussia with its headquarters in Poznań.

In January 1919 - created the Union of Polish teachers of middle schools ( Związek Zawodowy Nauczycielstwa Polskich Szkół Średnich, ZZNPSŚ ).

In April 1919 - arises the Association of Polish teachers in public schools ( Związek Polskiego Nauczycielstwa Szkół Powszechnych, ZPNSP ) from the merger of Zrzeszenie Nauczycielstwa Polskich Szkół Początkowych and Związek Nauczycielstwa Ludowego in Galicia. The ZPNSP represented left views.

In January 1921 - created the Society of Christian- national teachers of the public schools ( Stowarzyszenie Chrześcijańsko - Narodowe Nauczycielstwa Szkół Powszechnych, SCNNSP ) from the merger of Związek Dzielnicowy Stowarzyszeń Nauczycieli Polaków in Poznan, Polskie Towarzystwo Pedagogiczne in Lwów, Polskie Towarzystwo Nauczycielstwa Lwowskiego and Związek Nauczycielek in Przemysl. She represented national and ND - views.

In July 1930 a joint congress with ZZNPSŚ and ZPNSP took place in Krakow, on the one united themselves to Związek Nauczycielstwa Polskiego, which still exists today. Adopted in 1935 to the Statute of the ZNP.

1936 - The, edited by Wanda Wasilewska ZNP magazine praises the Soviet Union, triggering a sharp reaction in the association's top.

During the Second World War, the ZNP, like all Polish organizations is prohibited by the German occupiers.

As of October 1939, the ZNP (Secret Teachers Association TON ) acted under the name Tayna Organizacja Nauczycielska underground, where he organized illegal Training risked their lives to end of war.

On March 28, 1945, the ZNP county chairmen decide at a conference the continuation of the ZNP work.

By proclaiming the martial law on 13 December 1981, all trade unions are banned again.
