Polo is a city in Ogle County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2000, Polo had 2477 inhabitants; by 2009, the population remained relatively stable. The namesake of the city is the Italian Marco Polo.

His motto, " Gateway to the Pines " of the town is the nearby White Pines Forest State Park. 1856 was the future U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in the city to visit.

Geography
