Polydorus (Greek Πολύδωρος ), the son of Cadmus and Harmonia, was King of Thebes

As Thebes Cadmus left and went to Illyria, ascended not his son Polydorus, but his grandson, Pentheus the throne. After this had passed, Polydorus was king of Thebes. Polydorus married Nykteis, the daughter of Nycteus, with her he had a son Labdacus. As Polydorus died Labdacus was still a minor, so that Nycteus took over the government.

Polydorus had a sister Semele. This was killed by Zeus with a flash. At the same time a board fell from the sky. For this board Polydorus made ​​a golden image of Dionysus, the son of Semele, and called it Dionysus Kadmeios.
