Polypropylene breast implants

Polypropylene breast implants, also known as string breast implants, are a form of breast implants containing polypropylene. They were developed by Gerald W. Johnson. Due to a number of medical complications these breast implants were banned in the European Union and the United States.

The implants absorb body fluid and let the breasts continue to grow, the result is "extreme, almost cartoonish breast sizes ." String implants were implanted only in a very short time before they were banned by the FDA in 2001 and taken out of the market. Polypropylene implants achieved the largest recorded increases in breast size, more than solely by surgery is possible.
