Polyus Gold

Polyus Gold (Russian Полюс Золото / Polyus Soloto ) is the leading Russian mining and metallurgical company in the field of gold mining. The company is based in Moscow. The company is listed on the stock exchange in the RTS Index and a subsidiary of MMC Norilsk Nickel.

Company History

The company was founded in 1980 by Hazrat Sovmen and began its mining in the Olympiad gold field. The company Lenzoloto from the region Bodaibo ( founded in 1921 by the nationalization of more than 400 gold producers in Siberia) in 2003 was part of Polyus Gold.

2004 Matrosov gold mine in the region Natalka was developed. A side effect of this was an increase of 2,800 employees to 9,700 in just one year.

  • Krasnoyarsk region: the large deposits Olympics, Blagodantoye, Titimukhta, Tyrada, Oleny, Razdolinskaya, Zyryanovskaya and Panimba
  • Irkutsk Oblast: Zapadnoye, Verninskoye, Pervenets, Chyortovo Koryto and Mukode
  • Magadan Oblast: Natalka, Degdekan and Vostochnoye
  • Republic of Sakha: Kuranakh and Kychtus
  • Amur Oblast: Bamskoye

Gold production in 2005 was 33.5 tons.
