Pommerby

Pommerby is a town on the Baltic Sea in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. Börsby (Danish: Børsby ), Gammel dam ( Gammeldam ) and Niedamm ( Nydam ) are located in the municipal area. North of the village lies the bird sanctuary Geltinger Birk. Pommerby is a health resort.

History

Pommerby was first mentioned in 1409 and belonged to the Grange Good Rundhof ( Grumtoft ). Ecclesiastical it belonged to the parish of Gelting. The districts Gammel dam and Niedamm belonged to the estate Düttebüll ( Dyttebøl ) Börsby to Good Buck Hagen ( Bukhavn ).
