Background

From one of her friends Rihanna was unveiled at the age of 15 years producer Evan Rogers while holidaying in Barbados. Rogers and his partner Carl Sturken gave Rihanna then the opportunity to demo recordings in the U.S.. These were sent to various record labels, including Jay -Z, then- CEO of Def Jam Recordings, Rihanna then took them under contract and produced with her Pon de Replay.
